Hi everyone, I’m pleased to share a new addition to the server from Bamse: Item Filter. Medieval Realms restricts certain items that don’t belong in its setting. Most of the...

Medieval Realms Version 0.2.6 – Verified Players
Medieval Realms 0.2.6 introduces a new Verified Player system, creating a secure link between your Rising World account and your Medieval Realms Discord account.
This is an important step in the ongoing development of Medieval Realms and, in particular, in bringing the game server and our Discord community much closer together.
Until now, somebody could tell us their Rising World player name on Discord, but there was no automated way of proving that the Discord account actually belonged to that player.
Version 0.2.6 changes that.
How player verification works
Verification starts inside Medieval Realms itself.
While connected to the Medieval Realms server, you can request a unique verification code. That code can then be entered into Discord to securely link your Discord account with the Rising World account you are currently playing with.
The process is deliberately simple:
1. Connect to Medieval Realms
Join the Medieval Realms server normally using your Rising World account.
2. Request your verification code
In the in-game chat, enter:
/discord verify
Medieval Realms will generate a verification code specifically for your player account.
3. Open the Medieval Realms Discord
In Discord, use:
/verify
Enter the verification code you received from the game when prompted.
4. You’re verified
If the code is valid, your Rising World and Discord accounts will be linked automatically and you will receive the new Verified Player role on Discord.
That’s it.
Why verify through the game?
The important part of this system is that verification begins from inside Medieval Realms.
Simply knowing another player’s name isn’t enough to become verified as them. The verification code is issued to the player who is actually connected to Medieval Realms using that Rising World account.
This gives us a reliable way of knowing that a Discord member really is the Medieval Realms player they claim to be.
In-game chat comes to Discord
The first feature to make use of Verified Players is our new in-game Discord chat integration.
Medieval Realms now has a dedicated Discord channel connected directly to the game server, allowing conversation to pass between players inside Rising World and verified players using Discord.
This means somebody does not necessarily have to be logged into the game to remain part of the conversation taking place on the server.
The in-game chat Discord channel will be available only to Verified Players.
This prevents somebody who has never joined Medieval Realms from simply entering the channel and communicating directly with players inside the game.
A more connected Medieval Realms
Although receiving a Discord role may appear to be a relatively small feature, the technology behind it represents something rather more significant for Medieval Realms.
For many years, the Medieval Realms game server, website and Discord community have largely operated as separate systems.
We are now beginning to connect them.
For the first time, an action carried out by a player inside Medieval Realms can securely establish their identity on another part of the Medieval Realms community platform.
That verified identity gives us a foundation on which further integration can be built in the future.
For now, its first job is simple:
prove that you’re a Medieval Realms player and give you access to the conversation between the game and Discord.
But it represents another step towards making the server, website and community less like separate services and more like one connected Medieval Realms platform.
